Problem Solving and Python Programming

Problem Solving and Python Programming is a textbook designed for the undergraduate and postgraduate students of Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT), and Computer Applications. It will help the students to understand the fundamentals and applications of Python. The book will also serve as a useful reference for researchers and practicing programmers who intend to pursue a career in Machine Learning. The book is also intended for students preparing for interviews and for programmers who intend to switch to Python. The code has been tested in Python 3.x on a machine with Windows 10. The prior knowledge of C can be helpful for the readers of this book. Each chapter of the book includes a variety of end-chapter exercises in the form of MCQs with answers, review questions, and programming exercises to help readers test their knowledge. However, every attempt has been made to keep the text as precise as possible. It may be stated here that the topics in the book have been written in the simplest possible way. Key Features: The book has sections dedicated to procedural programming and algorithms to help the students to understand the basics. Offers in-depth treatment of topics such as multidimensional array analysis using numPy and visualization using matplotlib. The book introduces topics like comprehensions and operator overloading. Provides points to remember and a glossary with definitions of the key terms at the end of each chapter which will help readers to quickly recollect the important concepts. Questions, given at the end of each chapter, and the appendices would help students during interviews and examinations.
