The atmosphere of the earth is fairly complex and various changes in it are primarily photochemical in nature which require an understanding of photochemistry of gases and thus Atomic and Molecular Spectroscopy, States of Molecules and Reaction Kinetics. In view of such diverse nature of subject, a comprehensive treatise on chemistry of atmosphere is presented. This book is primarily an effort to cover all these fields by giving a lucid appreciation of the atmosphere for graduate students. Molecular spectra of almost all atmospheric molecules have been related as to how dissociation and formation of radicals take place. Along with the mechanism of these reactions, electronic states and reaction rate constants are given for every reaction. Smog formation, ozone hole, acid rain, particulate matter have also been related to photochemistry and electronic structure of molecules involved. The earth has been treated as a black body radiator and related through vibrational spectra with green house effect. The dispersion of air pollutant, particularly particulate matter changes meteorological conditions. Reformation of vehicular engines and use of different catalytic converters remove these pollutants, have been discussed. Dangerous effects of noise pollution on health have been well documented.<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
